His Timing, Not Mine

There are times when you have faith that God is at work because you trust and believe Him, and then there are times when He coordinates everything together so that you have absolutely no doubt that this was his doing.  That is what has been happening with the Cogdill family lately.  Let me give you a breakdown of the past 6 months:

January: Matt starts a job search

Jan-March: Not much exciting in the job search department.  We wanted to stay in SC to be near family, so we were a bit limited.  We did some searching in the surround states (around the southeast) but still didn't find anything Matt was interested in.
April: Matts gets a good job lead that we are very excited about, but turns out to be what we thought was a dead end (pretty disappointing)

April/May: Continuing searching without many prospects

May: "Dead end" turns into something even better than first job

June: Gets offered a job and we begin the process of moving our lives out of Charleston

June 30: Go to Lexington and fall in love with a house (house #1)

July 2: List our house for sale, praying we could sell so that we could buy house #1

July 9: Get a great offer on our house and write our offer for house #1

July 10: I meet with the peds neuro group in Columbia and pretty much solidify a great job offer (very part time, just like I wanted).

July 11: While waiting on final loan approval, buyer contract falls apart, insert devastation as we are afraid we will lose house #1

July 11: Matt finds another house he LOVES and sends me an email...house #2 :)

July 14: We dash to Lexington in a one-day trip to see the house....fall in LOVE.

July 15-25:  Pine over house #2...go visit a few times :)

July 26th: Go ahead and make an offer on house #2 so that we don't waste losing it again...all the while praying we never have to have two mortgages

July 29th: Get GREAT offer on our house!

July 30th: Finalize offer and we are OFF the market!

Aug 5th: Matt starts new job

Aug 7th: Get my final job offer from Columbia

Sept 20th: We will close on our house here and close on our new house too!

Oct 11th: My last day at work in Charleston

SO much of God was in all of this.  Our prayer from the beginning has been for God to show us the direction he wants us to go and make that clear to us.  He has confirmed over and over this is where He wants us.  I am SO thankful for his firm and unwavering signs he continues to give us over and over.  He had plenty of choices of how our move to a new city would unfold, but He chose a way in which we can undoubtedly point to Him.  We are so thankful and so excited about our new adventure together. Praise God!
