Braves Win!

We have been really excited this year because The Braves have been playing great!  We try to go to at least one game every year and this past weekend we made our annual trip to Atlanta.   When we got into Atlanta, Matt's dad said he really wanted to get some ribs for dinner, so naturally we googled "best BBQ in Atlanta." It came up with several Top 10 lists and after reading some reviews we settled on "Daddy D'z."  We plugged it into the GPS and started on our way.  Well...as we kept driving to "Daddy D'z" I started questioning the neighborhood we were driving through.  When we finally pulled up it was little more than a shack, covered in graffiti, and looked like we would get mugged just stepping foot out of the car.  I wouldn't have walked in there, let alone eat anything that came from their kitchen! Needless to say we moved on to #2 on the list, which was Fat Matt's.   It was still a little bit of a "hole in the wall" but it was delicious!

Both the ribs and BBQ were great!
It was a night game that started at 7:00...so much better than last year with the afternoon game in the 100+ degree heat!
 They played the Arizona Diamondbacks
One of the most exciting parts of the game was when a teenager jumped over the wall and ran across the outfield.  He probably had a good night in jail :)
BUT...the very most exciting part was that Matt caught a foul ball!!!  Pretty exciting!
Pretty pumped about his foul ball :)
Here is Matt reenacting his snag of the foul ball, haha!
Braves won 8-1! It was a very exciting game with lots of home runs and the Braves played great! Go Braves!

Governor's Cup Weekend

Last weekend was super busy, but crazy fun...just the way I like it :) The Reese's came down from G-Vegas for the weekend- always fun to have them back!
We went to Sette's on Friday night- a restaurant in Mt. Pleasant that Matt and I have never been to.  Its one of those restaurants that we've said we need to go eat there for like the last 2 years.  Its owned by the same people that own two of our favorite restaurants- Mustard Seed and Boulevard Diner.  It did not disappoint, it was great!
The boys after dinner so patriotically posed by the American flag
 Then their lovely wives...
Being silly
On Saturday AM we headed to Edisto for The Govenor's Cup.  My friend Becca works for their family business FishSmith and part of her job is the event coordinator for the Edisto Marina Governor's Cup.  So we got the VIP treatment all weekend at the tournament, sometimes its nice to have friends in high places ;)
Anna and Mandy waiting for the fishing boats to come in for the day
Craig, Janie (one of Becca's best friends), Matt, and Brad
Me, Anna, Mandy, and Becca

It was so fun and we were spoiled by the Smith family all day! Becca did a great job planning the whole thing!
We popped up the third road seat so all six of us could ride together...good times :)
Craig's parents were so nice and let us all stay at a house they were renting for the week.  There were three twins in one room and three in another so we slept guys/girls.  Mandy, Anna, and I had a little slumber party!

The group the next morning about to head back to Charleston.  Thank you Joneses for an amazing weekend, can't wait til next year!

Happy Birthday Lauren!

We celebrated Lauren's last birthday before she's a mommy last week- and her last birthday in her 20's!  Ryan, Lauren, and Richard came over that night and we ate a yummy dinner and then I tried a new recipe for a lemonade cake

I have been on a cooking kick lately- just call me Rachel Ray :)  I made spaghetti with home made spaghetti sauce, fresh mozzarella stuffed meatballs, and caprese salad. I have to brag because it was delicious.

For dessert I made a new recipe for lemonade cake, which I should post on here because it was SO good.  I love lemon desserts so this was a repeat for sure.  The best part about it was the lemon cream cheese frosting. It was my first attempt at homemade frosting and it was pretty well!

Lauren at 18 weeks...not the best view of her baby belly! Happy birthday sister...love you!
