Projects Thus Far...

So I have been experimenting a little with my sewing machine and made a few projects. I am going to a baby shower coming up and thought that baby stuff would be an easy way to get started. So here are a few things that I have made...definitely not perfect, but pretty cute I think. I just wish I knew more babies to make projects for...haha!

Tis the Season...

I have to warn you upfront that this post is going to be incredibly long with a lot of pictures. We had a great Christmas full of fun and family! Matt had the whole week off of work and we were able to spend a good amount of time with each of our families. One of the first nights we were in Lexington we went out dinner and to see The Blindside with mine and Matt's families. The movie was SOOOO good! We all loved it! It is a must see! This is a picture of all of us at Five Guys.
Its a tradition for the Cogdills to go to Sumo's (a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you) on Christmas Eve. It was SO delicious! After dinner we rode around and saw Christmas lights then went to the Christmas Eve service at Mt. Horeb, Matt's home church. The service was great and the music was awesome, like always!

Christmas morning at the Cogdills! Santa came :)
Jordan got some new boots- I think she likes 'em...haha

After the Cogdills on Christmas morning, we headed to my parents around 11:30 or 12:00. The picture is from the pile of presents on Christmas day at my parents. We have to make a pile because my mom sets up this ridiculously crazy game to play to open our gifts. This is why it took us over 12 hours 'til almost 1 in the morning to finish this year!
Our first gifts!
So my mom bought Tiger this jersey for Christmas. When we bought it we read on the package that Labrador Retrievers should get a 8-10 size. Well, to be safe we bought him the 12-14. It was still WAY too small, as you can see. It was SO funny- it was so tight on his arms that he could barely walk. We were DYING laughing at her just sat there all pitiful because it was too tight to move. We thought for a second that we were gonna have to cut it off him, but finally it came off. I have never seen him so happy to just walk around! Poor Tiger!

Merry Christmas :)

Matt's new circular saw- bought in hopes that one day soon we will have a garage that he can make us all types of things.
I finally got a sewing machine! I am so excited and can't wait to create all kinds of fun projects :)
Our new TV! Its safe to say that this was Matt's favorite present from my parents!
Stocking time! We all just dump out our stockings and open one at a time. By this point it was almost midnight so we were all exhausted!
Matt's stocking contents

I love that our family Christmas picture is at midnight-after we have all been in our PJ's for like 27 hours... notice some people got some patagonias....haha
The Monks :)
My sweet parents :)
My new sewing machine! So far I really love it. It was so easy to get hooked up and get started. I have already made a few projects including some hankies for Matt and Ryan and a set of napkins for Matt's cousin, Lori.
Went to Hancock Fabric today and I might have gotten a little out of control. I bought all types of cute fabrics (with no real purpose in mind) to get my collection started. I have been brainstorming different things I could make...

Overall, we have a wonderful Christmas. I don't go back to school until after new years, so I am still enjoying some time off, but Matt went back to work today. Having a week off together spoiled me, but its back to reality :)

Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! I hope you all enjoy a day with friends and family. May everyone remember the reason for this day :)

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Luke 2:8-12

Happy Birthday Tiger!

Yesterday was little Tiger's one year old birthday! It is hard to believe that we have had him that long. We brought him home on January 28th when he was just four weeks old! Since then we have just loved him more and more! Here is a few pictures of Tiger growing up :)

Tiger always loves the lake!

Tiger's first trip to the beach!

Hiking the Tallulah River

He has gotten SO BIG! A big 80 or so lbs! That is actually good because our vet predicted he would be 100 lbs at a year old...so we are very happy with 80 :)
Camping at Ghiven's Ferry State Park
These are a few pictures from Tiger's little birthday celebration yesterday. Matt, Ryan, and Tiger went camping on Sunday night in the 30 degree weather, so Tiger slept his whole birthday away after his big adventure. Matt did say that they sang him happy birthday at midnight. This is his big bone that Jordan and Will got him for his birthday.

My mom went to the animal supply house and bought him a selection of the finest bones for his birthday :) They were meant to look like cheez-its and nutter butters haha!
Happy first birthday Tiger- WE LOVE YOU!

Laura and Sandy's Wedding

This weekend was Laura and Sandy's wedding. It was so beautiful and everything seriously went perfect. Laura looked gorgeous and we all had a really good time. It was so good (as always) to catch up with high school friends!

For our bridesmaid's gifts, Laura got us robes, and not just any robes! These things weight like 15 lbs! She ordered them online and she said she made sure to get Turkish robes (didn't know Turkey had good robes...haha!) But they are very comfy, thank you Laura!
Becca and I at the bridesmaid luncheon at the country club. She is a good friend from high school whom I cheered with for a few years. Oh the many talks we had on the buses to and from away games :) She is getting married in May to another one of our high school friends, I know she will be a beautiful bride!
Me, Beth Ann, and Becca at the luncheon. Beth Ann was also one of our good friends in high school. Becca and Beth Ann were Laura's maid of honors.
Some more of the bridesmaids with the bride!
Matt and I at the rehearsal dinner

Lunch at the salon the next day. My mom made all the yummy food :)
The beautiful dress- it looked so great on her :)
Just before the ceremony

Matt and his best friend from college, Jonathan- who just happens to be married to my best friend ever- Cameron :) Pretty much any time we get to spend with them is the best time ever!!
Me and Cameron- oh how happy I was to see her! I felt like we hadn't been able to talk or spend time with each other in a decade. Cameron and I have been friends since summer after third grade when we met in Sunday school. Since then we have been best friends through middle school, high school, roommates all four years of college, and then we married best friends :) We made a pact last night that we WILL end up in the same town one day, its a requirement!
Matt and my mama- she had to take Ryan and Matt as her dates last night because my dad was in the drama.
These are some of my very best friends from high school. We hardly ever get to see each other anymore, but when we do, its always fun.
Cameron, me and Christina. Christina and I go way back as well. Many, many memories with that sweet girl! She lives in Colorado (with her husband that I introduced her to) right now, but has plans to come back to SC :) We spent an hour last just laughing and catching up with each other- the three of us could probably talk for a year and never get bored!
Some more Lexington girls!
Overall, it was a beautiful weekend and so much fun! I got in the car on the way home with Matt last night and couldn't stop talking about how good it was to see everyone and how happy I was for Laura and Sandy. They are off on their honeymoon to West Virginia where there is supposed to be 6-24 inches of snow! Congratulations Dukes', we love you!
