13 Months Old

Banks, you are 13 months old!  You are getting to be such a "little boy" and less of a baby.  Here are your stats from your 12 month well check:

Weight: 20 lbs, 12 oz, 25%

Height: 30.5 in, 75%

Head: 18.5 in  50%

You love to PLAY!  Whether its at the park, in the yard, or just at home, you love toys and playing.  You love to get dirty too!  If there is a mud puddle or a pile of dirt you bee-line for it!

You have 7 teeth that I know of, 4 on top and 3 on bottom.  You constantly have your hand in your mouth and are drooling, maybe there is more to come.  You went to the dentist for the first time and you did great.  He said you might be getting your molars soon so maybe that's why so much drool!

You are starting to stand on your own and took your first steps just yesterday (10/6/13)!!! We were so proud!  We were in the new house and I was playing with you inside when you stood up and took a few steps towards me.  Daddy was in the garage and I yelled and he came running!  You did it a few more times so that he could see.  What a big boy you are!

This month we visited Southport, NC for Daddy's cousin Joya's wedding.  It was so fun and you got to meet lots of family members you hadn't met yet. 

Joya was the most beautiful bride.  This was your first wedding!

This month after we closed on our house in Lexington you and I have spent three weeks living with Aunt Lauren, Uncle Richard, and Blakely.  We have had some fun adventures, but we miss daddy for sure!

You are talking a lot!  You will pretty much imitate any sound or word we say. You say several animal noises:  mooo, quack ("kak"), an elephant noise, and you snort like a pig when we ask you what sound does a pig make.  You say:

mama

dada

"wassat" for what's that

baba (for sippy cup)

kitty

"puh puh" for please

 "ah da" for all done

  I am sure there is a few more, but I can't think of them right now. 

You are busy pointing at EVERYTHING!  Your pointing has become much more intentional and you point for things you want or want to know what they are.

You are wearing mostly size 18 months clothes and size 4 shoe.  You are still in a size 4 diaper. 

Your favorite things right now:

-Animals!!! You love ALL things animal and when you see one we must tell you what it is and make its noise. 

- BOOKS, my oh my we read some books.  Again going back to the first thing, they must contain animals (favorites right now are Brown Bear Brown Bear, Barnyard Dance, Noah's Ark, My Mother is Mine, That's not my Monster)

-Mommy, yes you are in a very "mommy stage" right now

-Water, you LOVE water from your sippy

- Being outside, every time the door opens you bolt over to head outside

-Paci, oh boy you love your paci, we are trying to limit it to just sleepy times

You are still eating well and eating a lot, although its slowed down somewhat. You have become more opinionated about what you eat, but you are still not "picky."  You went through a "no meat" phase but we are getting over that.  

Normal day of food:

8 oz of milk when you wake up

Breakfast: One packet of oatmeal made with whole milk and a banana

Snack: Milk (8 oz throughout the day) and maybe some fruit

Lunch: Grilled Cheese, veggies or fruit

Snack: Rest of milk, cheese or applesauce

Dinner: Mostly whatever we are eating

4-6oz of milk before bed

You are so much fun and full of laughs, giggles, and smiles.  I love playing with you and discovering new things.  You are a little sponge and just soaking everything up. We love you so much!
