10th Anniversary Trip

 

In March Matt and I celebrate our TEN year anniversary! Hard to believe.  Well to celebrate we booked a trip with Kathryn and Caleb (and Cameron and Jonathan, but SURPRISE baby Wells was on the way and they had to cancel...boo) to the Dominican Republic. IT WAS AMAZING!

Dinner night #1

 

If we only knew what this night would hold. 

Problem #1- caleb needed pants for every restaurant, but he didn't bring any...haha.  He wore matts all week haha

Problem #2- no flip flops....again, caleb.

Problem #3- that night caleb was eating his steak (which was delicious) when a piece got lodged in his throat (it has happened before), but he couldn't get it out.  HOURS went by and still no help, still there.  Well this can potential become a dangerous situation.  We took him to the resort doctor- well she was like 12 and had braces and was ZERO help.  A few more hours go by and Kat decides we need to take him to the DR ER. NOT how I wanted to spent night #1 in the DR, but we called a taxi.  They took us downtown punta cana to what they called a hospital.  There were only a few ppl working there, no one spoke English, and no one had any medical knowledge.  It was very unhelpful and we were all frustrated.  We ended up calling his GI dr in America who suggested trying a Benzo to relax his muscles. Well the ER :"doctor" didn't understand this, so we left.  We told our taxi driver to take us to the pharmacy.  so we went to the SKETCHIEST place I have ever been...and apparently you can buy valium over the counter.  So we did.  He tried all night taking meds and seeing if it could work.  Well it didn't.  The next AM they started to call the airport to change their flights to get home ASAP.  Well when all as almost lost, IT PASSED!  Caleb was healed! We cancelled the change in flights and were back to having fun!  IT WAS QUITE THE ORDEAL!

 

 

 

Matt and I went for a run in the DR....mostly just to say we did!

 

 

Is it even vacation if you don't drink from a coconut?!?!

 

We had a pool right off our room, it was amazing!

 

 

 

the food was SOOO good!

 

 

 

 

It was such a fun trip, cannot wait to go back!
