Matt and I's 3rd anniversary is coming up on March 8 so we took a mini get a way to celebrate. We had heard of The Woodland's Inn in Summerville, but neither of us had been. If you haven't heard of it, its a 5 star hotel and a 5 star restaurant...one of only 6 in the nation! Pretty impressive for little South Carolina. Anyways, as you can imagine, it can be a little price, but a couple of months ago there was a groupon deal for a weekend, so we took advantage!
The service is crazy! When we drove up this secret service looking dude was standing in front of the Inn waiting on us. He immediately opened my door and said, "you must be Mrs. Cogdill." They then unloaded our car for us and took us straight to our room while serving us a complimentary drink.
The Inn was originally a huge mansion of one family, but has been redone and obviously converted into a hotel. The rooms were so quaint and cute.
Matt was excited because they had the music set to salsa, hah.
Happy 3rd Anniversary to us!
There were different things to do during the day like ride bikes, play crochet, and just walk around the beautiful grounds. It was so relaxing and peaceful. There is only a few guests there at a time so they are catering to your every need 24/7. Pretty fun :)
This is the beautiful inn
This is us before we headed down to dinner Saturday night. The restaurant was very, very good, but I think you have to be a true "foody" to appreciate 5 star quality food. There was more than one occassion where I was asking Matt, "what is this again?"
Our favorite part of the weekend was the breakfast, it was SO good. When you ordered orange juice they freshly squeezed it right then, and honestly it was the best OJ I have ever tasted! The other thing that was truly amazing was the grits. Matt loves grits and has lived in SC his whole life and he even said they were the best he had ever had by far. If I had to go back and do one thing, it would be get the breakfast, well worth it!
I definitely recommend going to Woodland's, such an relaxing and calming place to spend the weekend. We really didn't feel like we were 30 minutes from home. It is in the middle of no where and really secluded from the hustle and bustle. Great way to celebrate our wonderful three years of marriage!
