Banks, you are somehow already four months old? You are growing so much and going from a newborn to a baby right before our eyes. You are just so much more aware and curious about your surroundings. You are honestly the biggest and best blessing I could have ever imagined.
You are still eating every three hours with me or if I am at work you take a bottle of pumped milk just fine! It has been somewhat hard to pump at work, but it will be every bit worth it. When you take a bottle you will take 5 (occassionally 6) ounces. We did introduce you to rice cereal the other day and it was a HUGE hit.
You are such a spitter! You literally cover us after every meal, haha. You go through so many bibs and outfits its ridiculous. I don't think I have ever met a baby that spits up as much as you do. The best is when I am holding you and we're walking through a store and I hear a big "splat." Yep, that would be you spitting up all over the floor. I should own stock in burp clothes and bibs.
You still take 4 naps a day. We tried to cut it down to 3, but you weren't having it. Most babywise babies still are on the eating every three hours/3-4 nap schedule at this age, so you are right on target. Up until recently we would rock to sleep, but we have recently been putting you down awake and letting you soothe yourself. So far, so good. It only took you a few days to catch on and now you go down without a big fuss at all. Again, you are such a good baby.
Height 25 inches- 50% percentile
Weight 13 lbs 6 oz- 25-50% percentile
Head Circumference 16.5 inches- 25-50% percentile
You got your shots today and did pretty well right afterwards. You took a huge 2.5 hour nap afterwards and woke up definitely hurting. You were a little miserable all night, poor thing.
You had gotten the whole "sleeping through the night" thing down until recently. Something just changed and you decided that you wanted to wake up at night...but we are working on that, too. There were a few nights there (Christmas eve!) that you didn't want to sleep much at all...we were exhausted. I should probably do a whole post on my thoughts on sleep training, but we will see. Bedtime is around 7:45/8 and you get up at 7am. After we instituted a little cry it out boot camp, you have been sleeping through the night again. Totally not fun, but necessary.
I know most moms probably feel this way, but I have to say you are the BEST baby. You have the sweetest, happiest disposition. You absolutely love to smile and laugh. You have this little noise you do when you are "laughing" and it sounds like you just sucked in a bunch of air. You love interaction with people and will flash that big grin everywhere. Sometimes when you are eating you will pause, pull off, look right up at me, give me the biggest smile, then continue. Steals my heart everytime.
You love when mommy or daddy move your legs or arms. You still love to "dance," which basically means we hold you under your arms and bounce you up and down and all over everything while we sing to you. You love when we kiss you face, you smile immediately.
You are somewhat ticklish. When we touch your bare feet or under your arms and belly you will laugh.
You have rolled both ways this month. You will easily go from tummy to back, but will only occassionally go from back to tummy. You get so mad while you're trying and then all the sudden just flip right over!
You are still the LOUDEST baby...and I think you have gotten louder. You will literally scream when you are on your playmat or in your bouncer. You are not upset at all you just love to hear yourself "talk." We call you "tarzan" for that reason.
You are the perfect size right now! Just so cute and cuddly! You are wearing size two diapers and mostly size six month clothes. There are brands that are different such as you wear size 6-9 months kissy kissy, but all your size 3 month Shrimp and Grits still fit.
You have recently become very interested in toys. You can hold a rattle and it goes straight to your mouth. You like to stare at colorful toys and will occassionally reach out for them. You love to sit up in your bouncer or your bumbo seat because you see whats going on. You can sit up on your own if we are holding your hands for support.
The TV will already catch your eye if it is on, we have to be careful with that! You still LOVE your paci. It immediately soothes you, which is part of the reason you stopped sleeping through the night we think, you are looking for your paci. We had to get rid of it in the crib.
You are perfectly on track and got a great report from the doctor at your check up! We adore you, Banks. Happy four months :)
